Springtime for most of us is the new contract season. Knowing how to spend the budget wisely, where it will be most beneficial and where it will have the most impact are the questions of the day.

I’m not an accountant but like most of us I know value for money when I see it and want to stretch the money as far as I can.  You may know more than I when it comes to organizing a project. There are so many elements to consider. Staffing, machinery, Health and Safety, the weather, the list goes on and on and your focus changes as you get to grips with it, as key people take on their roles and the momentum picks up and the project takes on a life of its own while also taking over your life too.

Saving Time

In 99.9% of the projects that we do, the time element is also there to be considered. It dominates our thoughts, we always look at the cost vs time. What we can afford. But time is always ticking away.

As a species we are all consumed with time.  Everything is measured against time.  We all know lots of sayings about time:

Time is money…

Time waits for no man…

A race against time…

Time flies…

Time is of the essence…

Time and time again…

Stand the test of time…

Time will tell…

Only a matter of time…

I could go on an on, but who has the time……….?

The feeling is of urgency, time should not be wasted.

But we Irish use the saying

“When God made time he made plenty of it”.  I don’t know if it’s an Irish saying  but we do use it a lot as we can be laid back and relaxed but when a new project is on hand, time management takes over and God doesn’t feature too much except when his name is taken in vain.

New Projects

When it comes to that new project, it’s time sheets, down time, holiday time, start time, finish time, tea time, dinner time, time and a half, double time, time in lieu……..

Some of us work better under time constraints, working to deadlines can become an art for some.  Now we can use project time tracking software, but projects must be organized by competent people knowing staff capabilities with all the other factors taken into consideration too.

So why all this talk of time?

Condell Engineering is all about safety, accuracy and efficiency.

To quote Wikipedia:

Efficiency is the (often measurable) ability to avoid wasting materials, energy, efforts, money and time in doing something or in producing a desired result. In a more general sense, it is the ability to do things well, successfully, and without waste.

Growing up in Ireland on a small farm, efficiency is what it was all about. We didn’t have all the measuring techniques we have today. But the concept was the same.

Condell Engineering Pipe Alignment Tools are all about helping you become more efficient, saving you time, while improving on accuracy and safety within your company.

Check out our product specifications on our website or email us at sales@condellengineering.ie if you want to discuss anything relating to pipe fabrication or pipe alignment, we’d be glad to give you the time.
